We have put together a list of some of the most useful GAMSAT advice and GAMSAT tips – enjoy

• Practice your timing.
• If you are running out of time (2 minutes left) just fill in the empty spots with all the same letter.
• On the day of GAMSAT wear layers so that you won’t be too hot or cold.
• Don’t study on the day before GAMSAT – last minute cram sessions will only stress your brain which deserves (and needs) rest before the big day.
• Don’t bring study notes on exam day – you will either know it or you won’t. Cramming on the day will help little and just make you anxious.
• Don’t forget a calculator it is a major help in section 3.
• In Section 1 aim to understand the general idea behind the stimulus instead of memorizing the details.
• Plan your essays and practice good essay structure.
• Use relevant examples to illustrate your points in Section 2.
• Remember to bring your admission ticket and ID!
• A bottle of water and backup pens and pencils are very useful.
• Get a good lunch in your breaks on the day and don’t forget about the power of caffeine.
• Plan your study and preparation ahead of time.
• Make GAMSAT preparation your priority – cut back on other engagements.
• If you are struggling to understand a science concept try watching a YouTube video on it.
• Section 2 is the easiest part to improve in but it is vital to get good feedback on your practice essays!
• Do as many practice questions as possible and do them under exam conditions.
• For the Science section it is important to develop a deep understanding of the concepts and how they interact with each other instead of just rote learning facts.
• To test your understanding try giving practice lectures to your friends and family and get them to ask questions!
